Nash...

Remember that cute little baby bunny from last week? That is baby Nash, resident little brother to the superstar that is Hopper, and hands-down the *easiest* newborn I've ever had the chance to photograph.

I told his mommy more than once to tell me her secret, because I have NEVER EVER worked with an easier little one.

Hopper, however, kept me on my toes. He's a fast one!

Their mommy casually mentioned that they just happen to have this gigantic shell...could we incorporate that?

This is me = Giddy.

Their silk curtains were the perfect backdrop. And again...he slept!Just to prove that Nash really does know how to cry...this is the one time that he expressed dissatisfaction.
And then he rolled over and did this:

Seriously...easiest kid. Ever.

Hoppy Easter!

One quick sneak from today's newborn before I head out the door to Houston (because seriously...how could I *not* post this little guy?).

I'll have more in a few days. And they are ALL gorgeous...just get ready for newborn cuteness overload!

Have a great weekend everyone!

ETA: The adorable hat was purchased by this little guy's mom HERE

Beck + Ella

A little souvenier (or two) that I picked up in Mexico for the babies...it's such fun to see these finally being worn.

Ella is what her Mommy and Daddy like to call "High Maintenance". And with that-I am EXHAUSTED! Twins are most definitely twice the work. Once we got them to sleep, they were as cooperative as they could be. It was the nursing to sleep and KEEPING them asleep that was the challenge.

I am just so happy for Debbie and Brandon. She even mentioned coming back to work soon...and it took all I had to not fall at her feet and thank her profusely. I think she can tell that I miss her. :)

Holden is here!

Today I trekked out to the boonies of North-East-ish Texas to meet sweet Holden and his oh-so-cool parents. It was a gorgeous drive, with lots of back country roads, small towns, and abandoned houses. I had hoped to stop on the way back and photograph a few of the sights, but then got the call that my most recent framing order was ready to pick up, so I boogied back to Dallas.

Next time...

Until then-14 day old Holden was an absolute doll today. We put him through a real workout, and you *know* you have a good baby on your hands when he lets you do cuh-razy things like this:

Yes, Daddy is going to be someone's hero real soon. In fact, my daughter was standing at my elbow (begging for dinner, bad mommy) as I was quickly editing these, and she said "Is he a WEAL fireman?". She was impressed that I got to meet the "weal" deal.

Yep, I'm cool like that. I hang with the big guys. (I was impressed too, and oh so worried that his helmet would be "baptized". Holden did a great job of holding it (no pun intended), and we finished up with one sleepy little guy.

Katherine and her sisters...

Margaret, Sarah and Caroline were absolute dreams to work with at their newborn sister's session yesterday. It's such fun to work with lots of siblings...they are usually more cooperative than singletons!

Baby Katherine was having a bit of a rough morning, but we did manage to capture her sleeping (after much trial and error)

and the requisite (but always darling) baby toe shot:

This is my favorite of them all...Princess Katherine, letting us know that we were disturbing her nap time!

Little Miss Personality...

Landry was due at Christmas-time, but came a few weeks early...and even though she's a little older than the usual newborn for this time of year, her adjusted age is still under two weeks. And so, my first session of 2008 was on the books, and we had *such* a good time.

Sweet, sweet Landry has a definite personality. Here's what she thinks of her hat (or is it me? I blame the hat...the hat blames the lady with the camera and claims innocence. And so the finger pointing continues. Between the hat and myself. I might need to get out more.).

A few more of sweet baby girl Landry and her big (attentive, excited, post-lollipop) brother Logan. Who, funny enough, thought my name was Sugar'tography. Love him!
*Love* this one...
I have to give a quick shout-out to L&L's mommy L...We had such fun this morning, bonding over diaper changes, bottles, talking preschools, and a busy 3.5 year old that Just. Wants. To. Help. So much fun, in fact (I love this part-it made my whole day), that as I was leaving she commented that if I was going out sometime for drinks with mommy friends, to, you know, don't hesitate to call. And literally five minutes later (as I browsed CVS for my favorite lipstick that is forever abandoning me in times of need) my phone rang and it was L again. Letting me know that Little Miss Landry was fast asleep, thanking me for such a great session, promising to tell her friends about Sugar, and..."if you ever need a designated driver. Or someone to have a glass of wine with. Call me."

I am *so* calling her the next time I need some mommy down time. Anyone else want to go? We could have a girls' night out and make some new friends!

This is, after all, my new favorite book.

And with that small segue .. we're off! The next few weeks are already booked with newborns maternities, little ones, and more. I know it's been quiet, but I *needed* some downtime whilst the kids were home from school. And now that they are back in school, I *need* some time out. of. this. house.

I don't know that there was a happier place to be on Tuesday than our Montessori school's parking lot. Rejoicing moms (and dads) were everywhere, and even the kids were easy to peel off and usher into various classrooms.

It's been a good week.

2008-here we come!

Introducing...

Ethan Edward, little brother to Alex...my last sweet newborn of 2007!

I love how Alex is looking at Ethan in this very first image from our session (literally, the first click of my shutter)...Curious? Or a hint of trepidation?

For those lucky enough to receive one of the Christmas Cards/Birth Announcements-this will grace the back. The boys' sweet mom gave me free reign in designing their card (which could stem from the fact that she thinks I'm a design genius. Or the fact that she is slowly recovering from her c-section. Who knows...) Either way-*LOVE* the laughter and happiness in this moment. And the tones...earth tones make me swoon.

Call me crazy...but I *think* he might be a thumb sucker.

How we ended our session...many nursing sessions, two poops, and one "Are we done yet?" big brother couldn't put him to sleep. But he was no match for the Miracle Blanket? Ahhhhh...bliss.
